RE: fins for 122 starboard
I would go with the the 38 for your 7.6.
Hope this helps. |
Hi Kevin,
I`m 100kg and 1,90 m and plan to use 7.2 & 8.4 NP RSR with my isonic 122 for slalom races. Can you recomend me best fins&sail combo for each of the sails from Deboichet ? Thanks. |
I Would use the SL2 42 for the 8.4 and the 38 with the 7.6 from Deboichet.
Go for it you will love it11 |
I'm 72kg and I'm looking for a iSonic 122 '07..
Which fins will you suggest me for a 7.8 and a 8.5 both 2 camber sails? Bye! |
Alex,
I would go with the 122 and a 42 cm fin. For the 7,8 you might try something as small as the 38cm fin if it get really windy. HOpe this helps. |
Hallo Kevin,
have you already tried 122 '08 model? I've read it has a smaller volume (114) and a little larger tail. Would you please tell me what could be its sail/wind range? I guess the 8,4 is the best one for it but wonder how (and when) the new tr4 9,2 could be used as well as 7,6. I've seen you've rarely used bigger than 8,4 althought you're not a light guy... So does it mean the 122 could be thought as very light wind machine (with an appropriate fin and sail for 80 kg guy) ? Thank you |
I think it can be used for a very light wind machine. I have yet to get my hands on the 08's but they are coming here very soon. I think you will like this board as I have been using it in some pretty light sailing conditions.

Thanks Kevin!
I got my iSonic 122 for Christmas! I'm looking forward to try it on water.. So for my 7.8 2cam you suggest a 42 or a 38 if it gets windy? And a 42 even with a 8.5 2 cam (I don't have it yet, it'll be my next buy..)? Last: i also have a 6.6 nocam freeslalom and even if I prefer using it with another board I used to trip with one board only in the past and it may happen in future too.. What fin can I apply for this sail? Thanks in advance and.. merry Christmas and happy new year! |
For the 6.6 I wouldn't go any smaller than 36 but i would suspect you can stay with the 38 for the 122. Too small a fin in that board and you wont like it as much. I would say try the 38 and if there is too much lift for your 6.6 then go down.
