Which type wood or technora ?
Hi to all forum members.
I would like to ask something. I am interesting in to buy the K97.
My question is to prefer the wood edition or the Technora ?
Visually the wood is fantastic !
Some friends told me that the "feel" with wood its much better
than the other material, but others told me that if you will have
an accident...its much difficult to fix it. Is it true with the wood?
The two materials have the same endurance ?
I would appreciate your advice.
Thanks for your time.

RE: Which type wood or technora ?
Hi Spak,

This is a very often asked question ; Basically the information you have is correct : most riders favor the lighter. crisper on water "feel" of the Wood ride over Technora (or c/w pure carbon in other brands), wood boards have a very good behaviour in retaining rocker line profile etc. The "difficulty" in repairs with Wood is more cosmetic (if the damage occurs on an area where the wood is showing, difficult to overspray and make an invisible repair).

Endurance is basically similar, as is overall structural strength however it is usually impact or accident damage that causes the most problem and/or reduces lifetime ; depending on the many variables of the type/nature/force (etc) of the impact, you may find that one is slightly more resilient than the other.

Factoring in the cost initial difference together with the riders pattern of being "easy" or "very difficult" on boards during ownership (and thus leading to better or worse resale/cost of ownership) the suggested individual choice probably becomes a bit clearer.

Cheers ~ Ian

Hi Ian,
Thankx for your reply.
No matter the cost or resale which type do you believe fit better in chop (rough sometimes),
or waves in onshore beach ?
I will use it mostly with 5.7 , 5.0 & 4.5 sails.
Thanx again for your time. (My secret is that i feel more woody ! !)

I would say wood is a bit smoother through chop, both due to a more "lively flex" and due to the lighter weight.
