Fin for Isonic

What kind of fin is Albeau/Pritchard jusing on the Isonic's?
I am currently sailing with the Severne Code Red MK II, but I do not think that my difference in speed is made by the sail, more by the fin.

I am using the standard one now. Isonic 115 (2006)

Please advise, becource sone I have a competition that I like to win, or end up high in my rank ( the mission 2007 if you know it)

With kind regards for you comment,

Christiaan

I have been using the Sl 2 Debiochet fins. These fins are amazing if you can get your hands on one. Check out a 38 for your 115.

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for your reply.
But, I already having problems with the standard 42 cm fin when I am sailing with my 8.3 and even with my 7.6 ( Code Red's Severne)

Is the SL 2 Debiochet stiffer then the original one, so I will not have problems with spine out, and going upwind?

Regards,

Christiaan

I'll let KP correct me but I think you'll find the beauty of a Deboichet custom fin is that it will progressively flex towards the tip like a good sail, whereas the Drake production fins (also designed by the same bloke and similar in outline) are stiff in comparison.

Still on the Drakes myself but a mate with iSonics has switched to Nik Baker fins and swears by them. I can see an upgrade coming on :)

I had an occasion to test a 111 with its '07 stock Drake and must admit that the newer fins are much more close to the real thing than the '06 ones, or at least the 32 supplied with my S95.

Christiaan,

I have isonic 105 dram, I just use one fin under the board:

Tectonics Goldwing 36

It works from very low wind to high winds, fin is very controllable and easy on full speed. Never had real problems, see my gps results from yesterday:

Another good option is the Select SL7, I tryed it and they rock also! The big advantage of the select fin is crosswind speed... they are f*cking fast. Upwind angle is also verrrry good.

For the 115 I would go:

-Tectonics goldwing 38
-Select SL7 37
-Deb SL2 38

I think the SL2 is equivalent to Goldwing 2 cms. longer sizes; so maybe Goldwing 38 or SL2 36. I say this based on plan shape and old posts about fins. I'd suggest to check with Ian Fox about this. Anyhow, my Hypersonics (105 and 111) didn't use to be much fin sensitive.
