Kombat with Gator or Blade
I'm about to change board from my Flare 94 06 to a new one.
I'm thinking about the Kombat instead of Flare as I don't do that much trix. I just want to try the vulcano every now and then, and one day, maybe the forward :)

If I choose Kombat, can I use my Blade sail or should I change to maybe Gator instead ? Is there big difference in power between these two models ?
I'm a light weight sailor and thinking about K89 or maybe K79.

What do you think ?

Hey Croc,

Your Blade sails will be fine with that board, but if you do go for the new Gators, you won't be disappointed. They have such a big tuning range, deliver a perfect amount of drive at the bottom end and really versatile. 'Nuff said!

Thank you for your anser Stu.

Do you know if the smaller Gators can be rigged on a SDM ? Recommended is RDM, but sometimes it works with SDM..

I use Blade 5.3 today. Don't know if I should change the whole line or just add some smaller Gators. What do you think about that ?

I haven't used SDMs in many years, but I'm certain an SDM will slip up the luff tube fine.

Its completely up to you what sails you decide on, but why not try the Gators first? There is a program up and running where you can contact your local Gator Force team rider through the Severne website and try out his or hers. Check it out...

I would keep the Blade and just throw in a couple of Gators to give you a full quiver, remember its all about quality water time!

Do you think Gator 4.2 will work fine with a 400RDM ? It says 370 in specs, but there's a variotop and the luff is actually 397.

I was using a 400 rdm on my 4.2 and it goes fine.

I have two blades a 5.7and 6.2 from 2006, i tried a sdm on them , a neil pryde CK-45 430, and It was a crap setup. was impossible to adjust the sail to rotate so IMHO just go with a RDM or a SDM that has been OKed for these sails.
