Hi Kevin, I am looking to go back to SB (after seeing Bjorn better performance in Turkey) What's your opinion of the 2009 IS's (What do u think of those double wingers ?) My weight is 140 lbs. I sail NP RS 4.6, 5.4, 6.2 & 7.2. I am looking to get two boards one for light wind (may be the IS111) that I will use with my 7.2 and other for heavy air May be a: IS 76, 86 or 94 whidch one do u recommend ?? Thnks.

Fed,
Well for me I went down to Thailand and tested out the new Double Wingers. I hated the idea of them, because I always like the old school classic shapes, but in every board we tried they were faster with then on there. Again and again we tested them over and over and in every board every size the boards were faster. For what you are describing I would go with the 111 and the 86. Hope this helps. |
Thank you so much. What about fins ?? I know you race w/ deboichet . I have Tectonics and Vector's sizes: 24, 28, 30, 32's, 34, 36's, 38, & 40. (Mostly Falcon & goldwings, one Rockit and one EX) Stick to what I have ??? What would be the fastest Deboichet for the IS 111 & NP RS 7.2 ?? Thanks again.

I would go with the 44/42 sl 4 for the 111. I havent tested any of the Rockit fins so cant really comment on those. The Tectonics are great fins as well but I have always tested the Deb's a bit faster.

great thanks. I'll probably order the deb sl4 42. thank you.

Fed 1: You need to try the Canefire from Vector. 100% better than the rockit. The rockit is not meant to be used with these new wide boards. You will be surprise about the performance. Compared to Deboichet is more affortable and equally fast and easy to control.
I use with my 111 the 38 for fast and power up reaches and 42 for race and light-med power. |
thank you. I'll consider it.
