Freestyle alternative in light/moderate winds
 

What freestyle/freemove board & sail size would be comparable to wind range of my ISonic 122 / 8.5 Freerace sail? I'm 80kg and might consider getting something in that category as an alternative to the slalom kit for 12 - 16 knts.

I had a 6.9 NP Expression and 113 freestyle board several years ago. I was amazed at how early that planed but it seemed to top out speed wise sooo early. Great pop though.

I'd like to mess around with some spiny freestyle stuff in light/moderate breezes. What are you're recommendations?

Ok. How about this question: What's the minimum wind to get planing on the Flare 106 with 6.9 freestyle sail (N Duke/NP Firefly/etc)? How does this compare to the planing threshold of the Kode 102? Weight 80kg, advanced level.

my recon: the flare is the first to plane. Seeing as the kode is also built to ride waves it has a more moderate shape.
