Differences between North Power XTR & XTi
What is the difference between the XTR and the XTi?
Is it just the side pulley on the edge of the cleat block? Is everything else the same? http://www.north-windsurf.com/en/rig...sions-Overview I have an XT which works well. What is the feedback with the XTR/XTi? Is it a good improvement? |
XTR=The lever is 3cm longer, increasing the power ratio to approx. 1:60.
XTi=a lever ratio of 1:80 and a longer lever. |
Have you just read the website or have you also seen the products?
So you are saying the lever length is the difference between the two!? The comment about 3cm longer lever length is in comparison to the original base model - not to the XTi. Is the lever length between the XTi and XTR is the same? Yes the website mentions the difference is ratios but what is the difference in the products? Explaining it by the lever length is not correcy. |
correct. .

That is what the website says.
Still, I think is a useless item. Sails no longer need that much downhaul these days. Seems to me that there is a difference in the pulleys but the website seems not to be updated correctly, I think some of XT and XTR description is from last year technology and then they added a new one this year with updated technology XTi. |
"useless thing":)))))
I sail in very unstable winds. Downhaul should be trimmed every 15 minutes. Can't imagine better extension than XTR. Problems appear on formula sail sizes. Metal parts of extension wears too quickly. What changes were made there? |
