For Remi/Ian: Fin for is122 2009?

what deboichet fin (model/size/stiffness) would you recommend for is122 08/09 for 8.2m2?
My weight is 83kg and I am looking for the most all round fin for with very wide range and it should be very fast. It will be used in flat water, chop, in downwind slalom, figure of 8 slalom...pretty much every possible racing conditions.

I would probably use original drake 46 for very marginal conditions and for figure of 8 slalom if the legs are short (when I need more upwind power then top speed). Is it good enough for that?
When the drake 46 is to big / to slow, I would like to switch to deboichet for the best top speed and ultimate control in extreme overpowered conditions. I need big range because my next sail/board is 6.7/is101.

One more question...Do you thing that is122 would be good also with 6.7 and sl4 37cm? Is it a good combo for flat water and very gusty conditions when the gusts are to strong for 8.2, and when is101 is to small for lulls?

I tried original drake 46 yesterday with 122/8.2 in light winds.
I don't like this fin at all. I had the feeling that it can not lift the board enough. I do not know about the speed, but planning thru lulls was also bad...

So, I decided to get two fins for this board. One for fullpower 8.2 conditions, and one for light wind and good upwind performance (for figure 8 slalom).

What model/sizes do you recommend?

Canfire from Vector fin...
Sizes 42 to 46 or 48.

Sorry, deboichet only.

Debs are about the only fins that you can buy and then sell for about the same price if you do not need them anymore.

Sorry Vector fins are the same thing just better in your pocket. :)

I like the F-8 Tomcat Slalom fins by Tectonics. I have the 42 on my iS 111 and use it for 8.5, 7.6 & 6.6 sails. NO spin out and if you do push it out, it immediately pops back without pulling the tail of the board back in.

They come in sizes from 38 - 44. Less expensive than the Debs.

Debs are very performing Fins, but you need the right size in the right conditions...
For a big range Tomcat, Canefire are probably better choices.

Overpowered is done for the SL2 or the Rockit.

SL4 Only for top speed & DownWind, if you want a Deb prefere the SL2 if you have lulls & UpWind

Papounet, which sizes of SL4 have you used on which board? How did you find this fin after testing against SL2?

For a given contitions, which fin will perform better (top speed/range/upwind/control) - SL2 or 2cm bigger SL4? For example, do you think that I would still lack upwind and power if I take SL4 44 instead of SL2 42?

I have SL4 34 and SL2 36 so it is hard to compare for me... I like both fins very very much, and I do not find SL4 to lack power.

Nonopr, did you find any differences after testing vector fins against deboichet?
Which models did you test in what conditions?
