early planing settings for iSonic 135
Hi there
I'm using the iSonic 135 since july now, but I fnd it very hard to get it planing. I'm about 100 kg, and I'm using a loft sails O2 8.4 in 3/4, 4+ conditions. I use the standard drake 44 fin, or an Alex Aguera 50 fin in lower winds. The conditions are usually very gusty with alterations between non-planing and planing in the gusts. Now I know I still have to work on my technique, but what can I do to get planing faster? I usually have to wait for a serious gust before I can reach the straps and get going. What settings could I use to improve this? Position mastrail? bigger sail? etc. any help will do ;) grtz Benjamin Peeters |

Hi Tiki171081,
I am using also the iSonic 135, but with 9 and 10m and I am 90 kgs. You may change to a bigger sails and also try new fins. The SL 2 44 and 50 are my favorite fins for the 9 and 10. In this configuration, I get planing really quickly, hope this can help. All the best |

And where do you position the mastbase on the mastRack? further forward? or backwards?

I have tried the Is 135 of my brother 2 times... Super!!
Me 80kg 1.94m For early planning I recommend: -masttrack back (25%) -Boom @ chin level -OUthaul from sail 2-5cm Negative (this means way more power!) -Harnasslines 26-28inch (seat) |
