what fin size?
need a fin for F2 ride freeride board.
102l, 274cm long, 58cm wide I am 62 kilos sailsize 6.2-7.0 what size can you recommend? cheers |
finrange would probably be between 26 and 33 cm. Best fins: freeride fins, so Select Supercross (if there's a lot of chop on your spot these fins are ideal), Select Rides or simular fins by any other finproducer (i only use selects so i cant tell you which fins from which brand).
For a sailrange between 6.2 and 7.0 i suggest you use a 30 cm fin, it'll be the minimal limit fin for 7.0 but it'll give you a sweet ride for sails between 5.7 and 6.4. If you can find a 31 cm freeride it'll probably cover your needs better. But pay attention that in fin sizes it's the surface that counts, not dept, so in with one brand you'll need a 32 cm fin, with the other brand you might be able to get the ride you want with a 29 cm fin. good luck |
I have owned an F2 Ride 277 103 liter board since 1999. I still have it and ride it a couple times a year when I am back in the USA. Amazingly, it still performs pretty well and is a pretty fun board to ride The fin I like best on this board, and have used for a long time for sails in the 5.8 - 6.7 range, is the True Ames 12.5" Convert. See: "http://www.isthmussailboards.com/prodinfo.asp?number=TACP" This fin works very well sailing this board in the ocean and waves, as well as B & J conditions. For flatter water a similar size freeride fin with less tip sweep might be good.

got a select s-ride 34
the board feels fast and accelerates well i gusts I managed to keep pace with a formula board on a reach in about 7-9 metres flat water, I used an old 6.2 north sails natural freeride sails. I will move the straps outboard and see how that feels. thanks to everyone who conrtibuted for the input. |
