***** Saverne - SWAT *****
I would like to have an opinion about this sail, mainly the 4.2, 4.7 and 5.2 sqm.
How it feels compared to a classic Down-the-line Sail or an OnShore (power) wave sail? I have noticed that the Boom opening at the mast sleeve is somewhat higher than normal, why is it so? Apart from the photos on Saverne website are there any other photos available on the internet? Are there any test results available? Thank you Pat |
ooops, I have misspelled "Severne",
Probably the moderators would like to correct it and delete this message after. Sorry for the typo. Pat |

Thank you for the video.
I would like to have an opinion about this sail from someone who has use it and can compare it with other Sideshore and Power/Onshore Sails. Pat |
same for me, any info yet? test etc..
power compared to blade, S1? |
You can copare the different wavesails at their webpage:
http://www.severnesails.com/2010/swat/swat.html Looks like the Swat is aimed for lighter riders and that it's a bit more softer. |
I have tried the swat, but only a short ride.
According to Severne designers they have made the SWAT for the ligter sailor that wishes to have a forgiving yet manoeuvrable sail with a lower aspect. It should feel softer than the S-1 with more back hand and more compact than the Blade. The 4 battens are one of the keys to the reduced weight and the straight foot design allows for more radical wave sailing. I am "still" on my 2010 S-1s, but may also not be the target sailor (83kg) Not exactly what you asked for, but maybe it helps you part of the way ;-) Cheers Helmer |
