IS87 how similar is the ride to IS101

I had the opportunity to try a IS101 the other day, nice board. I was wondering if the ride / feel of this board would be representative of the IS87. if not ,what differences should I expect, other than better hi-wind capability.

Also would the IS87 stretch to a 7.5m for an 82kg sailor.

I am about your weight and own a Sonic 95. The iS94 is directly derived from the S95, as well as the iS87 is from the S85. I can tell you that althought the S95 can be used with a 7,6 with no problems, nevertheless it is not its job, and even less it should be the job for a S85 or iS87.

I use an isonic 87 with a 7.6m SSR and Drake 36 fin (off an isonic 111). I weigh 75 kg, and the combination is very fast and balanced on all points of sail, particularly in chop.

The 87 will take plenty of fin to provide lots of grip for big sails as the tail is quite wide. I have sailed the same sail on the sonic 95, isonic 105 and 111, so I can vouch that a 7.6 sail is effective on the 87. Of course better pumping and gybing technique is required compared to the larger boards.
