F162 and Deboichet fins?
I have read articles (Carbonsugar: http://www.carbonsugar.com/design/th...-tuning-guide/) that F162 is not so good (recommended) with Deboichet fins ... however, I have a possibility to get 2 second hand excellent condition Deboichet fins, a R19 70S+8 and R13 68M+6, so one as a low-end and one as a high-wind fin ... what do you think? Are they worth combining with my F162? What effects should I expect on the water?

Hi Marko,
The R19 soft in - - rake + 8cm work ok but only soft will too stiff and the R13 68 will be a good one for really high winds only. Hope this help All the best |
So which Deboichet fin would fit me best for low-end? What would you recommend?

Hi Marko,
Depending of your style from sensitive to very sensitive : - R19 soft -- rake + 8 - R 13 Soft rake + 8 - R 20 rake + 6 All the best |
I am currently using the stock r19 fin on my 162.
What is more apropriate for me..? I have found a r20 +6 I am 70 kgr and I use at the moment a 10.0m2 and a 12.5 for really light winds. |
Thanks Remi!

Hi TSAF;
Welcome on the Forum. At your weight no need a so big and heavy sail, you will have back problems. With a good 10,7 or 11 will be enough in any case 11,8 max. The R20 is very soft fin and will be better than the Drake R19 at your weight. Hope this help All the best |
hi, almost a year after.
I am now using only a 10m sail. with a deb r19-- +8 and a r20. I can't understand why you recommented r20 for light wind. It seems really hard to get it going under 14 miles. What mast foot settings work best with the r20 and a 10 sail. Any suggestions on footwork,stance to improve my speed.? Will boom high will help at all..? |
