I woulk like to change my quad 71l against the 66l.
As i told you on last october, since more than 10 years, my biggest board was a 73l.I have the feeling that the 71l is close to a 73/75l.
1)Do you think that the 66l can support 4.7m?
4.7m is the biggest sail that i use between 18 and 25 knots.
2)compare to a Fanatic 69l or a tabou 67l or a RRD 68l from 2010, do you know if the quad 66l has a similar volume?

I think I remember saying the 66 might be the size for you but the 71 would be good if you often sail a bit underpowered. The 66 prefers some speed. So you got a 71 and now want to change? What do you feel are the limits of the 71 (always good with some feedback).
As for the question? Yes, the 66 supports 4.7 and even 5.0. It's actually early planing and goes upwind well, the downside is more that it prefers a bit more drive an speed when wave riding, but on the other hand it's super precise and smooth when you have the speed.
I think the Quad 66 actually has 65 liters, so it's not bigger in volume. And it kind of narrow too. But I don't know the other boards you mention well enough to compare.
The Quad 71 is really a good board at my point of view.
With 4.7 and 4.2 (it means from 20 to 30 knots), with my 67/68kg, it is perfect.
As soon as i use my 3.7 and i am overpowered, i have the feeling that i would prefer a smaller board with less volume.
Over 30 knots, it is not so easy for me to complete a bottom at full speed.
Others riders who are 70kg or a bit more do not have the same problem and control the board much more easily.
That is the reason why i am thinking to the 66l.
I remind you that my biggest sail is a 4.7.So, if the 66l supports easily a 4.7, by reading your explanations, it could be a good idea.
I remember that when i was at Moulay on last summer, when there was high wind, all the light sailors wanted to go with the 66l Evo.
For sure, in overpowered 3.7 the 66 will be easier, particularly with 13cm front fins. And it does carry 4.7. So the only downside will be that you need some more riding speed to tap into the same kind of looseness that the 71 has.
