Evaluating and rating boards, need help
 

Can you spare a quarter of an hour a day the next few weeks? We are developing a web-tool that will help users sharing experience in a new way. The tool is almost finished and we need people to test it. No computer experience required. All you need is access to the internet and at least a couple of weeks windsurfing experience.

Right, but can you please remove it from your message? Spam-robots are continuously scanning the internet for e-mail addresses. I wrote my address cryptic to avoid some of these robots.

In case it is not clear from the above, this is a windsurfing-related tool that (hopefully) all windsurfers might find useful one time or another.

Anyone using an old PC? Windows 98? IE6? Any other odd combination? We need to test aspects that work on the newest browsers, but may be a nuisance on older systems.

why do you need e-mail addresses ?
are you selling them ?
why not just post the website with the "webtool" ?

No. Would I waste my time at a windsurfing forum if my goal was harvesting addresses? Would you?

As mentioned above, we need help testing the tool. At this phase it is essential to have control over user-input and to get user-feedback. Once the URL is out, I will have neither.
Why don’t I post what this tool does? I did, look at the subject of this thread.
Why don’t I reveal more? Because I want to asses experience of first-time-users.

Did you replace the at with a @ and the last space with a dot? Removed ALL spaces within and outside the string? Noticed that it is getmail, not gmail?

We are about half a million active windsurfers worldwide.
Say half of us can read. That leaves about a quarter of a million.
Say half of these can read and write English. That leaves a bit more then hundred thousand.
Say half of those have access to the internet, and of those tenth attend internet-forums about windsurfing. Not many left, but still a lot more then the five that actually replied my request.
Will it help if I get on my knees and beg?
