Futura 93 wood user GoPro HD video
for Starboard fans, just a few pictures of a fine June day in Hyres, France

by the way, does anyone knows how to get rid of mist on camera lenses, which alter most of rushes ?

Try some water crystalls. I have not used them yet myself, but have made a note for next time to use some. See the link below with comments from Kato. Also check out AUS770 YouTube video of Red Futura and Red V8.

And there's my own video with 2010 111lt wood futura and NS S_type 7.8!!

It's my first video and i made it by using the kodak playsport and the joby gorillapod

First on the boom, then on the harness and in the end on footstraps

I tried a new way to keep the lens clear, I put the camera and case in the refrigerator overnight and closed the case before removing the camera, I just checked today's videos, no haze. Just clear videos.

yes, I also tried the refrigerator trick, but so far with variable results
it worked fine once, but showed less efficient on other occasions

Enjoyed watching your video. May I ask you what sail size you used with the 93? What was the wind strength? May i get your comments on the boards performance (early planing, jibing, ) From your experience, what is the sail range of this board. I plan on getting one. My weight is 65 kg. I currently sail an isonic 122 2007 with a nprss 8.4. I would like to get a board with a 5.5 to 6.5 sail range. Is the futura 93 good for that range?

So far I used this board with following sails :

North Ram F9 6.3 (with Drake 32 fin)
North Duke 5.4 (with Select SL7 29 fin) (in the video with 20-25 knots of wind)
North Duke 4.5 (with Select SL7 29 fin)

Best fit is 6.3, but much to my surprise the board feels perfectly fine with the two other sails. I used it notably with 4.5 one day where wind was 35 knots, but weaker close to the beach, therefore it was difficult to start with my smaller boards.

The board and sails are for me still new, not yet correctly tuned, though improving. On the video, longitudinal stability is insufficient due to not yet correct mast foot position.

However, the impression I have so far is that it does exactly what it says it does, i.e. you go fast and easy, with great versatility, like you had both a slalom and a wave board.

Very easy and pleasant in jibes notably, though my technique, after many years during which I almost did not sail any more, needs much work.

Also, I am in love with the aspect of these boards in their wood version.

I also have a Futura 122 wood 2009, and am fully satisfied with both.

Great videos guys and cheers for sharing the details of what fins, sails etc. you are using. I just purchased a red 2009 Futura93 (wood) from Prydeman but have yet to take it out. Currently I have a C3 Venom 36cm which I think will work well with my 6-6.5m (Venom's run a little longer than most fins). Will be looking at one or two smaller for my 5.5m sail. Looking forward to some decent conditions!
