I ripped one of the footstrap screews out of the board. Can't make it stick, the treads are gone. How can I fix it ????? (iSonic 94 wood)
Thanks anyone !!!!
If the inner thread has completely sheared. You could use a bigger screw to cut a new thread into the plug. I cant be sure that'll work though:(
What year is your board?
If 2008 then you have the shorter 6mm x 28 mm FS screws.
Check with your local Starboard shop and see if you can find some
of the new 7 mm x 32 mm FS screws.
That ought to fix it permanently.
If 2009 or 2010, then you may already have used the larger diameter and
If not, try the Perma Tex Thread Restoration kit recommended in the repair section.
Some folks think this does not work, but it has restored many footstrap and vent plug threads
You must get all the water, salt, etc. out of the plastic insert to really get the thread
restoration epoxy to set up and grip well.
Probably use a Q-Tip Swap with some acetone or nail polish remover on it to
really clean out the old threads.
Hope this helps,
from your name I suspect that you live in Scandinavia? If you're in Sweden, you can order the new larger screws (7*33mm) from OnWater.se. If in Norway, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org, I have a single spare screw that Ola H. was kind enough to send me.

Sorry for late answer. It's a 2009 with big screews, so I will try the tread restoration kit. Thanks for the help everyone.
