I just tested the 2015 120 this morning with Remi in New Caledonia ... compared to my '14 117 it feels a lot better. More power under your feet but it has a much more 'locked in' feeling so when it...

The new 167 is less fin sensitive than previous boards. It still has a powerful tail so you don't need anything bigger than 72 cut. I've tested it with a bunch of fins ... I'm actually using my own...

Do not agree.

I've got all the SV masts from the past 3 years and there isn't a change in bends. There was a slight difference in stiffnesses over the past 3 years as in 2013 the Enigma masts were...

I have only tried the SL Z-fins but I was using a 46cm in lightwinds with 8.6m on the 110. Everyone told me it was too big, but I don't think any of them ever tried it! haha.

Are you using it for...

I wouldn't cut the fin tips off ... Just cut the head off and re-base them (to small tuttle size) at the required length.

I've done this a bunch of times with some old R13's and it works a treat....

Yeah, the 167w is a pretty flighty board in strong winds... Also the chicken strap recess is not helping.

Try:

1) Keep your boom up higher, around nose to forehead height as chr mentioned....

I am 80kg at the moment! ... sure, a 110 and 8.6 is working for me but you will need a bigger board, definitely. I was recommending the above for 'Carve' who is 72kg ...

For yourself, the best...

+1 on what Chris said with the 42 for the 110. It's perfect.

If you are doing figure-8 style slalom racing with a bit of upwind you can also run a 44cm for a bit more power.

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure I can comment on the Maverx masts as I've never seen one before in Australia. Typically, if you put a 460+extendor instead of the 490, you get quite a soft feeling mast. The...

Go for the OVERDRIVE!

Unless you're trying to do the World Tour, I don't why anyone would want to sail full race sails with all the cams. The Overdrive is soooooo much easier to rig, feels lighter...

+1 on Remi's comments with the 110 + 9.5m combo. The 8.6 is really perfect for this board and you can get planing pretty early with it!

Steve used ZF72 and ZF70 fins and I used a ZF71 ...and Wilhelm used a FZ68! ... All fins were S- stiffness.
