came across this post, it seems ages now since I was sailing the Hypersonics, 125 then 96. They were a pleasure to sail, the feeling was unique. I kind of miss them if I think about it. I replaced...

ah, ok, I get it now, but it was misleading in my opinion.
On the website it's only written "Flat Vee to Mono Concave" in the "Bottom Shape (from tail to nose)" column.
Before seeing the real board...

Thanks for the advice Remi!
But you think it's dangerous also to try a hydrofoil in very light conditions like 8-14 kt, for example on a iSonic 122 wood?

Hi, I use a 46cm fin on the iS122 with 8.6, just wonderful 12-18kt.
18-20kt I switch to 7.8 with a 42cm fin, just fine and maybe wishing a 43-44 in some conditions
Now I got a iS110 to be faster...

Hi Remi,
I finally got a 2014.
I was expecting a mono concave in the front and a vee in the tail as advertised in the website, but it is actually the opposite!
Mono concave in the tail and quite...

Hi Remi

beside the geometry, also another difference you could tell me: what is the carbon construction different from the 2013 grey to the 2014 blue iSonics?
Only color or also more robust or...

iSonic 110 2013 vs. 2014

Hi Remi,
what are the differences between iSonic 110 2013 and the 2014 version?
I would use it as biggest board with 8.6 and 7.8 racing sails in 12-20kt at 66kg

Bye

That's why I fear that the narrower tail of the 110 would lack upwind angle in marginal conditions.

Hi Remi, thanks for the answer.

two more questions

compared to the the 122, does the 110 need a smaller fin than because it "flies" easier above the water?
(I now use a 46cm fin on the 122...

iSonic 110 vs iSonic 122

Hi Remi,
I am quite attracted to the 110 as replacement to my 122 2009.
I guess it will be an improvement in all aspects, except maybe upwind angle.
Is that right?

Hi Remi,

what is the mono concave there for?

Is that the main reason why you say 117 is more for high wind and the 117wide for light wind (except width)?

isonics, flat vee and concaves

I have noticed that the group of iSonics for light to medium wind (127, 117 wide, 117, 107) all have "Flat Vee to Mono/Double Concave to Flat Vee" except the 117 which is all flat vee.
Why?

Hi Roger,

so, roughly summarizing:

fin head width (mm) = 15.80 +/- 0.05

fin slot width (mm) = 15.875 -0.000 / + ?

The problem is that all Deboichet Custom (I have 2008 SL4's made by UFO)...

Larry, of course, not "Latty", too much hurry...

What I wanted to say: "the detailed fin head drawing is not so useful", without the detailed drawing of the slot on the board (fin box).

Hi Roger,

thanks for the fast answer, but I think now I am more confused.
the fin head width is 0.6160"-0.6200", or 0.620" -0.624" like you wrote above in Feb. 2009?

From what you say it seems...
