Jim Drake interview
Great vid but I was more interested in the Jim Drake interview. The Orion - sounds like Starboard are at it again, pushing the boundaries. I will eventually get my wife out for a sail around Dublin...

First off I never have been the best at turning corners at speed but I can usually get around on the plane. I can even gybe my Missile XS with some difficulty. I previously had a Sonic W55 and could...

Gath helmets
Quite a few people were Gath helmets skydiving to prevent possible injury on landings, the speeds on landings would always exceed 12 knots. I personally have had a Gath save my life once when I...

In a past life I used to leap off cliffs for kicks and one of the gear manufacturers gave me some great advice.
You might not look too cool wearing a helmet while jumping but you'll look a damn...

Unable to use fin
Well I guess the fact that a pair of select fins I purchased before going to Weymouth last year were so far off that after a hour of sanding I still couldn't use them (I only noticed the poor fit at...

Angle of attack
With an electric sander the process doesn't take too long so I'm not overly bothered the time, suffice to say I've another Falcon in the post to me.
My concern however is that you could sand too...

F2 Missile Tuttle boxes
No the F2 smaller range use tuttle boxes.
As I said the sanded fins now fit the F2 and SB boxes perfectly.
It wasn't just a little bit of sanding either. I had to buy an electric sander and I...

Interesting accidents
First off:
Many years ago (15) I was sailing along when I spotted some shallows straight ahead, having lost many fins in this lake I though bailing out was the best option. I landed in the...

Fin sanding
This is an issue that really bugs me.
Recently I ordered a few Techtonic fins and they all required serious sanding to fit into my F2 Missile XS, SX M & iSonic 87. Fortuneately the fins boxes seem...

Go into any decent hardware store and ask for a drill bit with the thread running opposite to normal (not sure of the correct term), get it in a small diameter bit so you can drill down the centre of...

RE: Code Red - Broken batten removal
Instead of removing the batten I just cut a 3" piece of standard 8mm carbon tube, glued 1/2 of it into the section of batten I removed, then pushed the remaining 1/2 into the broken batten remaining...

I snapped a batten on my Code Red and the break was total, therefore when I attempted to take out the batten, only 3/4 of it came out, the remaining 1/4 remained in the batten pocket.
I have no...

I previously queried this process when derigging ssr's, the instructions state to pop off the cams before releasing tension on outhall and downhall or risk damaging sail.
The problem I have on...

I reckon that the best purchase would be both the 87 & 101 and that's what I'm seriously considering.
My question now is whether or not there is any requirement for the Missile S. It seems to me...
