It would be a toss between the 80 and 87, depending what type of sailing you are after. The 87 will have a little wider range and get going earlier, if you are willing to get a few fins for it.

I don't think the length itself will do that, but a more raked back fin will make you rake back the rig more too.

Why do you want to know the volume? It really doesn't matter that much when sailing as we rarely have the whole board submerged. Only if the wind dies completely will that be an issue.

I guess the...

I have the Hypersonic 96 (since I bought it in 2004) and I still like it very much. It has a large range in terms of sail size but even more impressive is the range in terms of wind strength for a...

I'm similar built I guess, 175cm, 63kg, 46 years, but have to the opposite conclusion. And I'm always on fully cambered sails. They are much nicer when you're on the plane, they go faster and drive...

If you really want earlier planning you'll need a larger sail. Something around 7.5-7.8 and a board around 120-130 liters. Or you just go full out and get a Formula board and sail around 10m^2.

I think the key is to get less weight on the nose and less weight on the rear foot too.
This means mastfoot further back and more downhaul, respectively.

Adjustable harness lines is a great way...

I have the iS 76 (and iS94) and to me a 28cm will be too small. I would instead recommend something only slightly smaller than what you have, i.e. 30-32cm, to start with. Keep in mind also that when...

I haven't sailed the Atom iq, but the futura is pretty close to the full on slalom boards (Isonic). I think the Carve series is much easier to sail and should be much better for developing gybing...

There is nothing really "wrong" with the F162, it just needs a powerful fin, it was after all developed in combination with the Deb. R20 fin.

With a Z-fin this board really comes alive, it flies...

You don't need any T-foil to sail on the fin, just ask any Formula sailor...

If you do want a foil then the classical V-shape should do the trick of reducing the lift when the board rides higher.

There is a problem with the questionnaire, even those who don't buy or use earplugs are forced to answer questions about them, such as price and model etc. This doesn't make any sense to me...

I don't know what you have sailed before the 167W. But if you compare the positions of the mast track, foot straps, and the fin base on the 167W to e.g. the HWR or 162, you will see that they have...

The 1/3 "rule" only comes from the fact that the sail acts like a wing and these have their pressure center positioned around 1/3 from the leading edge. It is only meant as a quick way to find the...

I haven't tried the other sails in that list but the Reflex IV sails are very nice. Lots of power and a very smooth camber rotation.

You can always test sails on different mast to get a softer or stiffer sail. The Reflex III 10.7 was particularly stiff on a 550 mast, don't know if that has change or not for next year.

I wouldn't add any straps until you've sailed the board. It light winds you don't need to be in the rear strap, in fact on the F158 one could sail very well in light winds by having the rear foot on...
