Tried it NOT a good thing if you are over 120# and then it is so long you (they) can hardly turn it. Roger Jackson (Starboard/Sailworks) guy left one at our shop in Atlantic City NJ early last fall....

I kinda agree with John but I gotta say the 12' has more glide (almost as much as 12'6) just easier to handle. The UB is fine but the narrower tail greatly reduces glide.
