One of these came up for sale locally. I'm 74 kg, looking for a cheap high wind board for 4.2 to 5.0 conditions, chop, bump and jump, haven't tried true wave sailing.
I know the Evo is a wave...

Hi Roger,
I actually sailed it today. :-) (test fit it last night in the garage) Perhaps planed up a tad little later than the 52 cm stock fin (not really sure because I didn't swap in the 52 to...

Wolfgang, I do appreciate your interest and input. Your fins do look impressive but unfortunately I think that it would be cost prohibitive for me to purchase. Shipping alone would be close to $60....

I guess you do like the Reapers ;-)
The Reaper sounds like a good compromise between performance and weed shedding.
A couple more questions re the 39 cm vs the 42 cm fin.
It seems that other...

Hi Roger,
thanks for the reply. The other day, I tried a inland location close to work that is a 500 acre pond. I could see some light weeds under the surface. The ones that kept getting hung...

2005 Carve 145 and weed fin
I use my Carve 145 with the huge stock 52 cm tuttle Drake fin for 7.0 and 8.5 light wind sailing. I have a MFC Liquid Pro 44 cm for overpowered 7.0 conditions and rarely 6.0 (usually shift down...

Thank you both for your advice. It's good information to know that my 145 liter Carve is more similar to the 133 Futura. ie making a move from that board to the 122 wouldn't be a huge difference. ...

tacking and board width
Hi Roger,
I was wondering how much board width would help me in tacking a short board?
I have a 2005 Carve 145 liter (78 cm wide) and a 2000 103 liter F2 Ride (59 cm wide).
I'm an...

hi Farlo,
thanks for the advice.
a couple follow up questions:
1) realistically, can one use a 8.5 sail on the FU 122 comfortably? Having a FU 122 and later a smaller used board would be more...

Help deciding Futura 101 vs 111

Background. I’m an intermediate sailor. 73 KG. Have a 2005 145...
