NP RS6 with MaverX masts

I know this may not be the place, but the NP forum no longer seems to exist. I want to rig a 9.0 Neil Pryde RS6 on a MaverX Daytona300 and was wondering if anyone has any experience?

Now, before...

trying to find a second hand formula board in the UK

Not having too much luck, so if anyone can help out that would be great - only criteria is that it should be in decent condition and not too old

Thanks

2006 S-Type 115

I am replacing my S-Type 115 with a slalom board and was wondering which isonic to go for - options are 101 or 111. I have a Fanatic Falcon 125 as bigger slalom board, and weigh approx 95kgs.

Also...

RE: Isonic 87

TJ,

Have you bought the 87 yet. I have a 94 for sale which has only been used twice.

It needs to go sometime soon to make way different gear

RE: Carve 133/144/162

at your weight, you certainly do not need a Carve 162 (I wonder if anyone does), and the F-Type is a nice board but so very different to the rest of your quiver that you have to wonder if it makes...

RE: Naish Stealth 9,6 with HS111

Hi Steve,

It seems to me that you are exploring the margins a little too much. Its not so much the uphauling that concerns me, I know people who can do this on a 70ltr wave board. It more about...

RE: Bigger fin for the Is 133?

Hi Mark,

Yes, it is on Ebay and I am thinking of switching (back) to formula. I love light wind sailing in the summer months and do not feel the Is133 is delivering it for someone of my weight...

Bigger fin for the Is 133?

I am finding the Isonic 133 difficult to unstick in light wind conditions, and was wondering if there was any mileage in going for a bigger fin than the stock 48cm provided?

In light winds I sail...

RE: ISonic 133

Hi Simon,

I own an Is133 and would say that the 7.8 you could use at a push - the 6.5 is too small and there would be no real benefit to putting this sail on the board as by the time you'd use it,...

RE: isonic 111 vs 115 (06 model)

In the absence of other comments I can offer the following:

Having owned a Is125 and now a 133, I think the new generation iSonics are more intuitive to sail, but seem to need a little more power...

RE: Isonic 111 speed

Sorry, I don't agree with Peter here but I think we are talking cross purposes. My experience is that the 36cm works absolutely fine in higher winds. I just need to work out when to start using it...

RE: front footstrap feet comes out,

That last one seems to be key... putting your backstrap a little further forward (or as far forward as poss). I was reading one of your Dutch magazines recently and Martin van Meurs (him of going...

Isonic 111 speed

I have an Isonic 111 and have been absolutely amazed at the ease of sailing it. It is really confortable, it planes relatively early and is quite intuitive to sail.

But... with the larger fin I am...

RE: iS145 vs. iS133 in 8-14kts 7.5-9.5 sails?

No No No - don't!

There is no doubt that the iSonic (for instance in comparison with a similar size Fanatic) planes a little later. The joy of the board comes at the top end when it remains...

RE: iS145 vs. iS133 in 8-14kts 7.5-9.5 sails?

I thought I did - try again...

8-10 knots - you don't need the 145
10-12 knots - you don't need the 145
12-14 knots - you don't need the 145

Early planing differences will be almost...

RE: What is your fastest 2 Sec GPS with an 8.5?

From experience I would suggest that doing 32 knots on a hyper is pretty good! In fact, it is my firm believe that this board does not go much faster. I used to own one, and it had a definite top...

RE: Formula 161 for light weight sailors (response for Menzzo)

I will have to bow to those with actual experience - but I know in the UK there are a number of lightweight sailors who already got rid of the F161 to go back to the F160 for reasons I mentioned

RE: iS145 vs. iS133 in 8-14kts 7.5-9.5 sails?

Bottom line - at your weight with those sails, you do not need the iS 145. I have a 133 and from a slalom perspective that is the biggest I would go. The 145 seems IMHO more related to the previous...

RE: Aero with cammed sails, any experience?

you are quite right - there is a guy on a Kombat with an X15 sail in one of the mags doing 30 knots. The question to ask is why? And does it really add to your sailing experience in a way that you...

RE: Board/sail combo for gusty flat water sailing

Sorry to have to disagree again, but I do so on the basis of having a iSonic 111

The iSonics are not as early planing as other slalom boards. For instance, the Fanatic Falcon gets going much...

Be careful to follow that last bit of advice! The New StarBoard F161 was designed following the specifications and requests of Antoine Albeau - Its a board that works perfectly for him. Now Albeau...

RE: Board/sail combo for gusty flat water sailing

I agree with the last poster - the HS is not so good in gusty conditions. Well, that is to say, it is good when its planing because it will keep going for some time in the lulls, but it is harder to...

I am sorry, but I have to disagree with some of the observations made here. I actually think that the Lightning will not allow you to get the best out of the aero.

all the leading edge stuff is...
