My info is that 07 and 08 are the same shape when it comes to the 79. The 08 is significantly lighter though. I also think the fin choice is differernt. I believe the 07 has the Drake crossover fin and the 08 has the (more apropriate in my opinion) Drake Natural wave fin.
I have the 08 myself. Lovely board.
