Frankly, I'm in the same boat as you. John Chao just kind of abandoned his responsibilities with the magazine, and just didn't fulfill his responsibilities to paid subscribers. Also, his questionable conduct ultimately led to Bill Hansen's decision to bail from the Windwing brand, something that Bill developed and nutured for many years as a viable and noteworthy company.
I'm afraid that John Chao came up real short in many ways. Too bad really, but sometimes an unfortunate consequence of a sad reality. However, John did have talent as a photographer and publisher. I think that he just lost his path and ventured into something that he couldn't float in a viable way.
