Bump & jump usually implies sailing in high winds with large swells. That usually means slashing around the swells or on them and jumping them or launching huge air. Freestyle is usually done on flatter water and implies popping the board off small ramps and spinning the board & or sail around to perform a freestyle trick. Freestyle can also be done in J&J conditions but only by really good sailors.
