RE: Light Winds
Actually, I have an old Bic Transitional 170 which I use in light winds. I'm finding some of the basic freestyle moves like clew forward sailing make it useful in light winds. There are all sorts of drawbacks to Formula boards where I sail starting with the large fins. Someday, I figure I'll replace the old Bic with one of these new boards, but if I wait until I'm in Florida to buy it, I think my life will be better. There are all sorts of added expenses like a new roof rack, a larger boom, longer mast and bigger sail which keep me from taking the leap, too. I also prefer to golf in those dog days of summer as well.
