Hi Marco I've had the 117w a month now an find it a very versatile board.
Its the widest board I've ever owned but you don't really notice the width.
The 117w has a fairly narrow tail so you don't need as large a fin as you might think. I've been using a 46 C3 sting2 with my Loft Blade 8.6 which is good for the very bottom end.
I've just ordered a sting2 44 which i think will be a better allround size for that combo.
Feels good through the gybes, I felt at home on it straight away.
Pads have plenty of grip and the foots straps are allot nicer than my 2010 Isonics I had.
