If you can't decide between 117W or US147, think about the following.
When you have wide open water with steady winds, probably the 117W will be the best choice.
On the contrary, when you are on a lake or on the sea in (side-)offshore conditions, you can use a board that helps you plane through lulls and always brings you back to the starting point because of its excellent pointing capacity (large width in combination with a large fin). In this case the US147 will be the best choice.
Although the Isonics point very well, they are developed with 1 prime goal, i.e. to win PWA down wind slalom races, often with huge overpowered sails
