Selecting too small a sail , perhaps not even registering a bigger sail ?
Leaving it too late to leave the beach and not making the start ?
Whatever the wind minimum there will always be controversy, questions asked - was it below the minimum?
There are sailors that excel in lighter winds, they should not be penalised at every event.
Of course in an ideal world all competitors are planing ; and we experience as wide a range of "planing"conditions as possible during a regatta .
