Default centerboard slot

Hello, does anyone know if there is any kind of tape or anything else that can be used on the bottom of the board to cover the centerboard slot for sailing in planning conditions and wanting to get the best performance out of the board. Preferrable something that can be removed for non planning conditions. Thanks, take care, Len

Duct tape works pretty well, but put some wax paper over the centerboard gasket before installing the duct tape so the tape residue does not adhere to the gasket lips and damage them or make them sticky.
I suspect if you are fully planning and water is still coming up the back of your centerboard slot, you are not yet all the way back in the farthest back and outboard footstraps.
Move the rest of the way back on the board and the centboard well should pretty much be clear of the water under your board at fully planning speed. The tiny bit that may still squirt through from hitting chop will not make any difference in your speed.
