Rio S Daggerboard

Teaching my 10 year old on a new purchased Rio S on Sunday.

First fall the padded mast foot swung across the back hit the dagger handle which duly bent where it meets the top of the dagger itself.

The dagger sits some 6 inches out of the deck at its highest point and as well as being prone to damage is just waiting for a kid to land on it.

I am asking to the shop to replace the dagger but I'm convinced this will happen again.

Any thoughts.
