US-box question

Hi,

last time I was out sailing, something just zapped right into one my brain... as I was fitting the fin, reading the "guide", I realized that I might have misunderstood something about "fin leading edge"...

I have marks from 1 to 4, "wave" to "freeride" saying where to place "fin leading edge". So what part is the leading edge;
-is it the very front edge of the fin, in front of the screw?
-or is it where the "active" resistant part of the fin begins, approx a cm back from the screw?

The leading edge of the fin is where the foil actually starts.
The tab that extends forward of the leading edge is only the mounting point,
so I'd put the junction of the front edge of the actual foil to the mounting tab on the recommended settings, not the front of the mounting tab.
The marks are pretty much a guideline or starting point. You can tune the board fin combo from there to suit your conditions and sailing style.

Yes, this is how I've been doing before, don't know why all of the sudden I started to *think* about it... must been the freezing cold at the time being... =)
