New Formula Experience or secondhand Formula 161 2007?

All greetings! I face to a choice what to get... New Formula Experience for $1080 or secondhand Formula 161 2007 for $1600? Interestingly your opinion.
It is a little about itself: I Beginner . Used a season on JP FREERIDE 159 with a sail 9,5. This board has appeared not the best for our light breezes. A board has sold, the sail has left. More often at us blows 6-12 kts, time 2-3 one summer prior to 30 kts. And planing it would be desirable:-)

Get the 161.

Given the fact that you're a beginner, I would recommend the FE, as it offers a more durable construction that will sustain the potential abuse of learning better over the long haul. With the money you save between the two, you can buy a real nice Debiochet fin.

I am not sure that the combination of Formula and Beginner is particularly good. My limited experience with Formula boards says that they require active pumping to plane at all, and that they require quite big sails in order to plane any earlier than good (more user friendly) big freeride boards.
A Formula with a 12 m2 sail planes very early, but with the same 9.5 sail I don't think it will plane any earlier than an 80 cm wide freeride (that is designed to plane also without pumping).

What do other windsurfers in your area use?

My exprience is not limited... I've used formula boards for the last 7-8 years,
formula/ or formula exprience boards are great choice for a beginner that sails
in light wind areas, sail size >=9m2 , don't need to go for 12m2 unless you're 250lb,
FE is more durable but heavier/less responsive, will take extra 1-2 knots to plane, with regular formula you can glue a nose pad to protect it from demage.

Thanks all responded. The idea steveC was pleasant:-) but while the final decision has not accepted.
In a weekend I will go I will look 161.
As to my experience. The first year used the big board with øâåðòîì (The big central fin), the second year JP FREERIDE 159. On it I use a trapeze and has risen in loops (not so confidently). Would be more wind, progress would be big:-). As already speak, this board not for our conditions.
Now I want continuation:-)
Opinion local windsurfers were divided approximately fifty-fifty :-)
