Default Mast extenstion lenght

any idea if you could rig a 400 mast with 35cm extenstion to fit a NP RS05 5.9 race sail..
mast is a 55% carbon mast

Hi Unreg,
Yes, you can use that much extension, in a 400 mast, to get a 435 cm mast length, but beware of the IMCS number for the sail you are rigging.
A 400 cm mast is significantly softer (IMCS 20) vs a 430 mast (probably the right mast to use if you need 435 cm mast length) which is IMCS 23.
It can work, if you have no other way to rig the sail, but the sail may rig very poorly and the performance could suffer greatly.

Yeah, I use to rig my 6.0 on an old 460cm mast, that thing was tearing it apart, had to use a homemade winch to downhaul! Now i got a 430 100%carbon RDM mast second hand and my sail has never had a sweeter shape/leech.
