Per, that 1st model equipe is a rocketship in high winds. When I decided to take up racing years back i bought the mistral comp SST and my friend the equipe. the Comp was good in light airs and the equipe excelled in the heavy stuff.
The sail that came with the Competition was a 6.2 ( or 4??) semi battened sail, it was meant as an OD sail , It was basically worthless when racing. AT that time gaastra had just came out with the camber inducer !! A big sail in those days was a 6.6. Infact we still have a few guys at the beach who have nothing over a 6.6. their mindset is still way back. You could carve gybe that equipe 1 easy! |
