Default Futura 155: Best light-medium wind sail/fin?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,

I just purchased a lovely new Futura 155. Where I sail, the winds are often 15mph, so I figured this would be a good board (with a 7.5 sail for example) that would enable me to plane and practice jibes, etc. It absolutely is.

My question relates to higher wind performance. It isn't uncommon for the winds to keep moving up to the 18-20mph range where I sail, and I am used to putting a 6.0 (or even 5.5) sail on my longboard to manage those conditions. When I looked at the Futura specs, I was surprised to see that the sail range and fin size for the 155 was only 7.0-10 meters with 48-58 cm fins.

I have had some success sailing the board with a 6.0 and a 5.2 in windy days, but I was wondering if you could advise me about fin sizes for these smaller sails (the 52cm Drake it comes with is not exactly made for the 20mph plus days...). With such a high performance cut in the board, it seems strange that you would limit it to less than 15mph winds (i.e. 7.0 sails). Am I missing something?

Thanks in advance for your help!
