Hi all,
I'm new here, so I want to introduce myself and ask for experiances. I'm a 33 years old windsurfer from Germany (70-76 kg - it depends; perhaps due to the age ;-) ) and I like windsurfing in Gruissan (South of France - next week, the DEFI Wind starts with over 1000 surfers). Last summer, I was out with my red Fanatic Bee 84, the wind blows, but at the beach area, the wind decreased due to a few mountains, so it was not easy to curve with high speed. I saw other surfers with a Starboard (Futura 93l, 101l) and I felt like a beginner. So I decided to buy also such a board and yesterday I found the 2009 model Technora in red and the price was below 1000 Euros, so I've bought it (this board was totaly new, not used). I hope that I will have a lot of fun with it. I think that 93l will be enough for my weight and a wind between 5 and 7 Beaufort with the correct sail. Last year, I've tested the Futura 122l, but this was too big for me. I think with the correct sail and the fin, this is a good deal. Have you experiences with these board? Thanks for your comments in advance. |

I got a 93l Futura a couple of weeks ago and I love it so far (although my fin is too small).
The Technora build should make the board more comfortable in high wind, though not as fast in ideal conditions. I'm 56kgs and use a 5.8m and a 30cm fin. Did your board come with the stock 34cm fin?

Hi,
yes it came with this fin and if I compare it to the Fanatic (wish is a wave with a very small fin), I think, this board will give a great performance to me. The Fanatic has 84l volume and so far, I am was happy with it, so the 93l for Futura will be enough I hope. :-) |
