kode 86

does anybody knoe the plans for 2012 kodes? will they still be there with the same shape or what will be changed for the 86 for example? i plan to buy one but would not like to buy an "old" shape. or is it just cosmetics as the shape s already ok?

kode 86 2012 seems to have another shape. 3 cm shorter.
does anybody know what they changed? Lots?

Have my new 103 litre 2012 Kode (replacing my 86 is next!). It looks great, new colours are much better in real life than in pics show. For the 103 they subtly changed the tail to make it get up and go faster, but otherwise its pretty much the same brilliant shape. The 86 is one of those absolute classic boards that will always be a favourite in my mind and will remember for a long time. Don't know what they've done for the 86 in 2012, yet!

question for the starboard guys:
what is new with the kode 86 2012? i don't want marketing text but real experience.
do you feel a difference?
interesting: on my kode 2011 they wrongly wrote 233cm on it (it is 237) . now the 2012 seem to be these 3-4 cm shorter. so whats the story behind it and what are the real differences?
i still like my kode but am interested in what could be improved with a shape many like already.

I had the possibility to compare the Kode 86 2011 and 2012 directly.

I found the 2012 model is a bit better in planning and upwind performance while the 2011 ist better in highwind capability and jibes between the waves.

BUT: It's very important to know tha in the tested 2011 model was a Natural Wave 24 fin while the 2012 with a 26 Freewave.

So I guess the major difference I felt was because of the different fin.

Any other opinions????
