Default Rio 2014 deck

What surface is on the 2014 Rio deck (s,m,large) in the non EVA areas? Is it a smooth surface like one would expect on a SUP or the rough sandpaper-like non-slip surface?

Hi Teddy

It's non slip like all the other windsurf boards. The Sup surface can't work for windsurf and get very slippery quickly.

Hope this help

All the best

I would strongly disagree. If the EVA area is in the correct place there's no need to stand on the other areas, thus no need for a non slip surface. Most windsup and SUP boards are configured this way. It's much more user friendly but it requires a more precise finish on the board because the non slip finish covers up many imperfections. I think having the rough non slip surface on this board is a mistake.

Hi Teddy

Their is 2 models, one full Eva who give much grip than any other and comfortable and the other one with only foot pads in Eva.

We try during 3 years same as SUP and it was a disaster for windsurf who is not the same grip demand and all clubs was complaining about it.
