Default '06 Pure Acid 86L tail shape

Have enjoyed owning and trying some of the different wave boards and could always use some help.

Curious why this tail is not thin like the Evo, e.g., rather, somewhat like the thicker freestyle tails? Or, what is the purpose of this thickness?

How does the PA86 sail compared to the the E83 for '06?

Advantages of the PA86 for '07?

I tried the '06 PA86 in 4.7/4.2+ conditions and found it soft in the rough water but often over lively coming in with the choppy swell(Cape Town) nimble in small waves and lighter wind, but am still struggling to get good action overpowered on bigger, fast waves, perhaps because of challenging conditions more appropriate for a 74L and smaller sail.

Outside jibes were a blast, so maybe, I also need more practice sailing with wind from the left.

79 kg/1.9 m

Insights most appreciated.
