When comparing s-type and i-sonic (say both 07 models), the s-type 126 has a tail of 41.6 cm and the i-sonic 111 is 49.2 cm. In planing condition, only the tail is touching the water so if i want to compare the 2 models, I should be comparing s-type 126 to i-sonic 94 or 101, but not to i-sonic 122. Is my understanding correct?

According to the German Surf Magazin the 2005, 2006, and 2007 S-types are faster than any Freerace board, depending on your skills.
S-type tests are available on the German Surf website, you just have to pay a couple of Euro's. In my opinion topspeed of slalom boards migth be higher, but the advantage of the s-type is that you can jump and jibe. Hang loose! |

Hi,
i am using the 2006 Stype 115, the fastest board if ever used in this class!! Typically i power it up with RS Slalom 6.2 or 7.2 , In choppy conditions this combination is in my view and from experiences matching with a friend on a IS101 is advantageous. I agree that S-type riding is very physical and requires a higer skill level particular in over power conditions But it is worth it - I am 95 kg so this helps ....No doubt for me , no better overall freeride/freerace board available on the market ! Cheers Tim |

And the 104 won the test freemoveboards, as being the most powerful and fastest of the group!
