Default 2009 isonic 122-111-101

Hallo Remi or Ian,
at my 80 kg I'm pretty sure to go for the new 133 for light wind comp but I'm tossing up for choosing the smaller size.
I see the 122 is 114 l. at 75 cm overall width and the 111 is 110 l. at 68 cm width.I think they have a very similar aim (even if I see the 122 more for 8,4-7,8 and sometimes 9,0 and the 111 for 7,8-7,2 and sometimes 6,7 or 8,4) but probably are addressed to different style/weight guys. Can you help me to understand that?
Then also the 101 target will be more clear to me.

Thanks

Hi ???

I am 81 kgs and choose the iSonic 133 & 111 :

iSonic 133 with 9 & 10
iSonic 111 with 6,7 ; 7,7 & 9
iSonic 86 with 5,6 & 6,7

As you see the 9m work well on the 111 and the 122 is to close to the 133. 8,4m will be perfect on the 111.

Julien Quentel (82kgs) choice for PWA, but they never race in tricky condition :
iSonic 76
iSonic 101
iSonic 122

All the best

My vote on the middle: Sonic 100
In its range: absolutely kills it

Bring it back

having owned the isonic 111 2007 I can't understand how a 9,0 or 8,4 can work on a similar size board (isonic 2009) with just 0,7 cm wider tail.
Where's the trick?

Hi ???,

You totally right for the iSonic 111 2007, but the 2008 can handle the 9m with out problems in flat water. The board is more wide in front than the tail and help you a lot for bigger sails.

All the best

thank you Remi,
do you find the 2009 111 lot faster than 2007?Where is the difference when sail it?Is it still good for 6,7 (it really helps when in slalom comp you've registered just 2 boards).

cheers

Hi Remi

I like your 3 board quiver, that would be mine too, EXCEPT I d keep my 100 , it still kills the others in its range

90 kg

The sonic has been clocked over 40 knots and will do so on a 6.6, that is if you can slow to jibe, L

bring that board back

Hi,

The R&D focus a lot on top end speed and confort with out changing the planing ability and acceleration for all the iSonic range this year. So the iSonic 111 2009 is faster than the previous model and more confortable. You will make a big jump from 2007 to 2009 model.

Yes the 6,7 still working very well on this board and you will feel that the board glide more than before and need less power on the back feet.

All the best

Hallo Remi,

As the owner of an iSonic 111 2007 and mainly sailing it with a 7.8 m2 at 78 kg can you help me with making a dicision for a 2009 model?
What are the differences, at my weight, between the 2009 iS 111 and the iS 122?
At only 4 liters volume difference how do the behave at early planing, topspeed and in overpowerd conditions . My impression of the 2007 iS 111, I like the board, it's not realy early planing and needs a lot of power in my back leg overpowered to conrole it.
My other board is a 91 liter Falcon and the sailsizes are 7.0 and 6.3.

Thank you for an answer.

Gauke
