Hi Peter,
What year model GO 170 do you have? The year model is the first couple of numbers after the "SB 170 in the serial number under the nose or by the vent plug. If you have the older "GO" technology, then yes, use epoxy resin. If your GO 170 has an ASA skin, I think the epoxy resin will still work, but you will need to sand/feather around your ding a bit further as the epoxy may not stick to the ASA very well. Here's a link to board repairs that you may find useful: http://www.star-board.com/SpringSumm...sst_repair.php Hope this helps, Roger |

Hi Roger
Thanks for your reply. The # is STG170A06110134 which probably means it's a November '06 model? Would this be ASA skin or not. Thanks Peter |

Hi Peter,
If you look at the archived 2006 website, your GO 170 is either FAST (GO) technology or TufSkin (ASA). It may say somewhere on your board, bit either way, use epoxy resin or epoxy based filler to repair your ding. Here's a link that explains the different layers in each "technology" for the 2006 boards. http://2006.star-board.com/products/technology.asp While on the 2006 archive, you can find your board under "Products/Go Hope this helps, Roger |
