Default new Isonic

After 5 great years with lots of sessions my isonic 125 (2006) is getting soft. I really liked that board. So I'm considering buying a new *board isonic. The board to buy is gonna be my biggest.

Me: 90-95 kgs, 1.89 m long, advanced surfer.

Other boards: sonic 85 (2006), isonic 101 (2010). So the board to buy has to replace the isonic 125 (2006) and sails to use with the new board are Neilpryde RS Racings 9.0-8.4-7.8. The 7.8 is also great for the 101, so main targets are the 9.0 and 8.4.

Can you advise me?

Hi Kvda,

I recommend you the iSonic 127 who will fit perfectly your 8.4 & 9.0.

All the best

Hi Remi,
I was in doubt between the 117- 117W-127. I was afraid the gap between the 101 and 127 is too big... probably not...
I also considered the 117W but its a concave-shape and maybe very different compared to the 125... a higher ride?
The 117 is an option, but as I noticed, the board to buy is gonna be the biggest so I'd better buy a bigger one...

Difficult choice!

Hi Kvda,

At 90/95 kgs if you want to race the 127 will be better for you compare to 117 W and 117. You will be better in light winds with a better exit jibe who the most important in a race. It's also the choice of the PWA riders in this weight category.
If you don't race and want to close more the gap between your 101 and your bigger board, go for the 117 Wide who will be excellent also with 9.0 and 8.4 but also with your 7.8. This sail will be not use for top performance as 117 Wide on the 127. And will be way better than on your 101.

Hope this help.

All the best
