fin select elite 41 for isonic 127 -2011

Please,

I have 85kg and 178 cm. I have new isonic 127.

For 9,5 m2 vapor gastra sail I have fin 49 select elite.

What is your reccomendation is for 7,5 m2 severne overdrive fin.

I have possibility to purchase 41 select elite fin tuttle (not deep tuttle). Is it ok 41 and is it ok tuttle .

Hi GG,
41 cm is fine in Std. Tuttle.... plenty of fin head to fin box integrity and strength.
Std. Tuttle in a Deep Tuttle fin box is fine, but you will need longer (18-20 mm) fin screws!
Might have to do some minor fitting and/or shimming to get the fn head truly flush with the
bottom of the board/finbox. Be sure to leave the fin about 1/32" (1 mm) proud of the bottom of
the board as "draw" to really seat the fin head in the tapers of the fin box. Pull it flush with the
screws!

Hi CG,

For the simple Tuttle box in deep Tuttle box, no problems but the fin is way to small on this board, the board will be sticky on the water and not nice to ride. 46 will be a better option to make the board lively and fast. You have normally a sticker on the board who show you the good combination between sail size on fin, stay as close as possible to this recommendation to get the best of this board, thanks.

Remi knows that board.... I've never sailed it... but I agree, 41 is way too small for the tail width.
46 cm would seem about right for a 7.5 m2 rig!

Bizarre: 7.5 is the smallest recommended sail and the fin range 38-50. What does the sticker say about 7.5 sail/fin combination? What is the smallest fin to go with 57.5 tail width? I would think 46 makes sense but why 38 then?

recommended fin range 38-50 = most minimum to maximum most
I saild it with a MFC 44 cm rc2 (i'm 87kg) and with a 7,8m and 8,6m sail
I think its to small (It only works in very strong winds)
Normally I use a 46cm fin with my 7.8 m sail. (select, fin with a lot of lift)
It would at least be a 45cm
And a 9.7 m sail on it works perfectly with a 48 to 50 cm fin.
fins bigger than 50cm also give no further improvement.

Roger, you said that the length of fin screws for isonica tuttle box 127 for a long 18-20 mm, and provided you know how to be a long fin screws from isonic 121/2010. but deep tuttle. I'm driving tuttle box instead of deep tuttle box, and now I bought a deep tuttle fin, but the monster screws. I had them now measured, but if you already know how long, whether you can tell me?
And by the way, I bought select 43 S11race for sail 7.8 and the board is121, a width of 75cm. Is that ok?
