2008 Futura 111

Hi,

have pretty much decided I want to get a wood version of the 111l Futura. Have just seen a 2008 model for sale and was wondering if the board has gone through many changes / improvements since this? Would it be worth holding out for a newer one?

I'd be really grateful for any comments or advice.

I hear the 2011 model moved on, and got nearer to the isonics. But the 08 futura is still a great board. If its a good price, go for it

Wow, quick reply. Thanks for that. 2011 sounds interesting. Was there a big change that year?

The 2011 I understand was a failrly big change from previous years with the deep mast track scoop etc, you can access all the different years on starboards websites, just google it. A mate had the 2008 or 09 and has changed to the 2011 which he said in is opinion a lot better. I just got the 2012 which is 30 mm wider in the tail, and has moved more to a race design with harder rails. I had a great sail on it yesterday in bumpy bay conditions and it performed superbly. Thanks Haggar. Wish I could strech to a new one. Looks like it could be worth seeing if I can find a used 2011 version within my budget though.
