REFLEX triming

hi..i use riding with reflexll 11m2 2011 and reflex 12m2 of 2010 but i have no idea how to trim the reflex tentioners in different winds!!!?????????if you can help me with some tips about it my windsurf life will be better..hehe!!thank you in advance....

Hi Konstas,
the idea of the Reflex Tensioner is to put tension on the batten from the inside point of the sail and not from the end. So, release the tension at the batten at the normal batten tensioner in the end and tension through the Reflex Batten tensioner the batten afterwards. You start with the tensioner just next to the boomend and work youself up till the top. You can put most of the tension on the batten tensioner next to the boom and by each Reflex tensioner up a bit less tension. Afterwards you can tension the batten at the sail´s end. Minimize the tension on the top battens of your sail in general and give your sail the chance to breath and flex.
It does not matter too much if the wind is light or strong. In general you would change your boomend tension or take a smaller sailsize. The Reflex tensioner in general allows a better release of overpower due to the fact that the leech reacts and can flex (breath).
Sure you should use the recommended mast or anything similar in stiffness and also check the pressure of the cams, where you can adjust cam spacer or take them off.

I would like to ask you a question about uphole and downhole trimming of reflex and reflexII!!sould i put exactly the specifications as is written on the sails or not?some people says for example that they put 2cm more at the boom length(uphole),some other that they put 2cm less downhole or more!!what is the best to do istead of having the best trimming for severne reflex sails!!for me ,i think that i must follow exactly what the severne gives at the specifications of the sail!!what you think by your experience that i sould do....,and how are you used to trim your sails?

For every sail is bit different for measurement. The best is just down haul until the loose leach comes close to the black seam that runs up the sail by the luff pocket. For battens tension most from the red buckle and then just a tinny bit from back.

Seems a lot of questions regarding batten tension and what should and shouldn't be done on the Reflex. Maybe somebody in the know would be willing to put something together on You Tube if not already there....
