Sounds like you would be better off getting yourself down to a demo day and trying a few boards out.

Hey Greg,
just responded to the free forum before seeing this - definetely consider the F's - i've slaughtered a F101 for a few years in open ocean, from 18-25+kn and basically swap from slalom style to the stock free-ride fin for when it gets scary and it responds brilliantly - very quick yet very controllable so rough water isn't a problem....and loves jumps |

wow - i'm feeling intimidated! my smallest is a 5.4!!
i'm a bit like you - i like to sail with a bit of power and always the biggest sail - mates would be on 4.5's and 4.7's at the same time the F101 handles the 5.4 well - the specs suggest anything down to a 4.5 (interestingly same spec for the K94). i reckon for 5.5 and smaller the F101 is probably overall too big but the F93 would still be worthwhile considering. tuttle box is the big + of the F (basic reason i went for a F in the first place over a K - ended up with both anyway......) and sounds like it might be a + for you too, the spec suggests down to 4.0 (smaller than the K94) Last edited by Uncle Mike; 30th March 2012 at 03:50 AM. |
